Alicia Hagan
I am Mrs. Hagan. I graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2009 and later obtained my Masters in Social Work from Western Michigan University in 2015. Since obtaining my BSW, I have been working with children and families. I have child welfare experience ranging from foster care to residential services and trauma-informed treatment. I am excited to be a part of the Godwin Heights community and help students be the best version of themselves. I am passionate about healthy relationships, social and emotional learning, and teaching children how to cope and respond to stress safely. I believe that kids do well if they can; just like reading, or math, kids need to be taught how to cope. My room is calming and quiet with some activities to take "brain breaks" in order to relax our bodies and return to learning in the classroom.
I live in Kentwood with my husband, two elementary-aged children, and our little Boston Terrier, Eddie! On the weekends you can find us exploring festivals and community events, trying new restaurants, shopping at Target, watching Netflix together, and visiting local coffee shops and bakeries.
