My name is Jamie Young, and I am a 1996 graduate of Godwin Heights Public Schools, where I attended kindergarten through twelfth grades. In 2001 I graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in Secondary English Education & K-12 Physical Education, as well as a degree and licensure in Athletic Training. I taught for a year in Detroit, Michigan, and then headed to Missoula, Montana for graduate school. In the spring of 2004 I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching English from the University of Montana, and then came home and landed back at my Alma Mater, Godwin Heights. I have taught 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade English, as well as honors classes for 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. I also taught Yearbook for several years, as well as Multicultural Literature and Introduction to Athletic Training. My favorite part about teaching Language Arts is teaching writing and helping kids to get a better grip on non-fiction texts- in fact, I read medical journals in my spare time because my biggest interest is holistic medicine. I currently live in Wyoming with my two beautiful daughters, and two amazing sons. Nearly all of the assignments we do in class are posted to Google Classroom, so please ask your son or daughter to show you what we are working on there.
